We took a long walk in a county park this afternoon. It is actually a forest preserve and the trails are beautiful. They border some areas of local farming and folks use the outer perimeter for horse trails. Cassie and Willie were quick to find large piles of horse poop. Those pictures to come. Here we are, covered in horse poop, just before leaving for home.

Just a quick trim with a 7F, scissoring around the paws and a tiny bit around the eyes, “All the better to see you with.”

We visited with a good friend Saturday. She owns the grandpa to our new puppy. She also has friends nearby that own Giants. They get together to play in a local park on a regular basis.

Of course I forgot the video camera AND the nice digital camera but we had the cell phone. Getting this many people and dogs organized for a photo is tough, but here we all are: Rita, Rick, Beth, Mark and me. Giants are Ozzy, Samantha, Chief, Slate, Cassie and Willie. The pocket Giant is Greta.

We made a special visit with a good friend this weekend. Rita has been anxious to see Willie while he is still little and she can hold him in her lap. He was as good as gold for the whole visit. Rita’s Giant is the grandpa to Willie.

Sometimes after a bath or when they are just feeling pretty good about life, dogs will get the “rips.” When a Giant Schnauzer gets the rips, it’s a pretty crazy event. When 2 Giant Schnauzers get the rips together, it changes from crazy to out of control. Here is Cassie with the rips after her bath. I think a little of her craziness is directed towards the puppy. I think this is her way of saying, “if this toy was you, I’d make mincemeat out of you.”

Hmmmm…. No room for me on the couch tonight.

Say hello to our new puppy!

This is a video taken at the breeders when we arrived to bring the puppy home. The legs in denim pants belong to the breeder. He is a wonderful guy. Watch him playing with the puppy! This would be Cassie’s first time up close with the puppy. You can see she isn’t very happy. This little guy is very friendly!

Every day for the past 12 years when I turn on my computer I see this picture of Chance. I took this the first day he was with us. He was our first Giant. Today we are remembering this very special member of our family and we miss him very much.
