Today is the day to pick our puppy. Four boys were brought out and we played with them for an hour. One fellow was destined to become a star, a show dog and another fellow was totally rowdy.
Puppy number 3 was pleasantly rowdy. He is the guy with the tape on his back. Puppy number 4 was a real lover. He followed people around, looking up into faces, licking them.
Puppy 4 liked his belly rub very much and has a gentle mouth.
How do you feel about coming home with us?
In one week we will return to bring him home!
Our Pond

Every morning I spend a few minutes at our pond watching the fish and checking for frogs. Cassie checks out the yard too.

We had a busy day today, driving far north into Canada to visit some puppies. I hope you enjoy this video. I probably stood and watched them for at least a half hour. Hmmm, puppy breath.
Cassie As A Puppy

I have been looking back at old photos and I thought you would like to see this really cute photo of Cassie when she was about 12 weeks old. She has her first bone.
Haircuts

We spent the afternoon giving Cassie a bath and haircut. She looks pretty good. Here is a photo from 2005 of Chance getting a haircut. If you look closely you will see that Cassie has her paws up on the table and is peeking out from underneath Chance. She really doesn’t like grooming much now but this was so cute back when she was little.
He was so beautiful when he was groomed. I enjoyed it very much. I really miss Chance.
Dog Shopping!
by Patrice on Jul.09, 2010, under Dogs
I remember taking Chance to the huge R.C. Steele pet store in Brockport many times over the years until they closed it. It was a great chance to work on obedience and he loved to “shop,” picking up things that he wanted. I sure miss that now.
My good friend Rita sent me this link. This video is so fantastic you will want to watch it several times! Don’t miss the daydream sequence at 3:26, it is a hoot!
These two dogs from Hungary were clicker trained to shop the whole store and take all the items to the counter and pay for them! Hats off to these trainers who have optimized the use of clicker training to achieve something that was fun for the dogs and that people will love to watch!
Rochester Woman Arrested for Cruelty to Animals
by Patrice on Jul.02, 2010, under Life
It never ceases to amaze me what I will hear in the news and because I work in a tv station I hear these awful stories all day, for days at a time.
This latest story is about a woman who tossed two pit bull puppies into two dumpsters. Children passing by heard them whimpering and went to the police. The dogs almost did not make it. Rochester Police are particularly concerned about crimes against animals and legislators have passed strict laws with severe penalties. They want to charge this woman with a felony!
